USAHA, under the leadership of the World Bank Group (IFC and MIGA included), participated in the second dialogue around India’s planned super-large Medical Cities. This is “Health Infrastructure” personified!

The event included active participation from the Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT) and Ministry of Commerce & Industry, Government of India.

USAHA and our constituents would like to congratulate the Govt of India and the World Bank Group (Somil Nagpal, Aparnaa Somanathan and IFC/ MIGA colleagues) for such openness to dialogue and different pathways, often including the private sector (profit/non-profit) in its outreach and consultations.

Discussion topics included:
*ecosystems, international connections, established names
*Tapping into medical value tourism.
* Needs included the following areas: policy regulatory and fiscal levers; integrated service mix: high quality specialties, volumes, and ancillary offerings; international patients and global talent; enablers for quality, patient flow & experience

World Bank and Govt of India (ICDC team) will design contours, formalize, over next weeks and months.

USAHA will stay connected with the enlightened vision and practical planning and implementation.
